Woow, I was confused with the titles and indonesian words but i think for now I understand the important parts.
Btw beautiful art and a new kind of story!
I’m not spoilering, it’s based on the real traditional story that we Indonesian people know.
Actually that Umang is his real wife, only because Arok wants the throne and has descendants of kings, that’s why he married Dedes. I hate him, he’s so greedy ðŸ˜
But I like this story bcs its art is really nice ðŸ˜
So when I read the chapter it gave us the indian vibes….
Firstly…the word Parameshwari is what is the actual word….but Parameswayri can also be used….
Parameshwari means ‘Godess’….So i think the translators wanted to convey the FL as the ‘Godess of the Country’….
But if u use Patni/Pati Parameshwari then it means Wife or Husband is equal to the position of God…
Secondly…Moksh means ‘Enlightement or Salvavtion’….in other words ‘freedom from the cycle of rebirth and death’…If u hv read about Lord Buddha then u will understand it better…He was earlier a Prince who had a wife n son…he had given up his position of the prince after seeing a sick man, an aged man and a funeral procession as he thought the world was full of sorrows n left in search of englightement…He sat under the Bodhi Tree n earned his enlightement…This Bodhi Tree is currently present in Bodh Gaya, Bihar, India….
Thirdly…Sati was the most cruel n vicious practice that had ever taken place in India…
The origin of Sati had first took place in the times of Gods and Godess’s when it they used to be alive….
Sati was actually the wife of ONE OF THE THREE MAIN GODS IN INDIA N HER HUSBAND WAS LORD SHIVA….so she became Devi or Godess Sati after her marriage with God Shiva against her father’s wish….Devi Sati’s father was the ‘Son of Lord Brahma’ n Lord Brahma was ONE OF THE THREE MAIN GODS OR SIMPLY ‘TRIDEV’ AS ‘TRI’ MEANS ‘THREE’ N DEV MEANS GOD N ‘TRIDEVI’ WERE THE KNOWN AS THE ‘WIVES OF THE TRIDEVS’…DEVI MEANS GODESS…SO KNOWN AS ‘TRIDEVI’…
Lord Shiva had cursed Lord Brahma for lying to him ( if u want to know more about the curse…just search it on Google as it is a lengthy story )…this the reason why Devi Sati’s father whose name was ‘Daksh’ hated Lord Shiva…n plus Lord Shiva is covered in ASHES OF CORPSES THAT ARE SMEARED ON HIS BODY WITH A BLUE NECK FROM HOLDING POISON IN HIS THROAT, WEARS A GARLAND OF SKULLS N A SERPENT, NAMED VASUKI, AROUND HIS NECK….so overall u can imagine his scary look…
Devi Sati n Lord Shiva fell in love n got married…so one day Daksh had kept a YAGYA/YAJNA OR IN ENGLISH FIRE SCARIFICE ( don’t think burning into a fire or killing someone…. google will make u understand it better )n did not invite Lord Shiva n Godess Sati…Godess Sati was angry that they didn’t respect her n consider her as the part of the family…as aresult Daksh, Sati’s father insults n humiliates her n Lord Shiva n this made her furious n she went into the fire n burned himself n after that Lord Shiva was completely heartbroken…but after a while due to LORD VISHNU, ONE OF THE ‘TRIDEV’ said that Devi Sati will come back n take rebirth…
She was reborn as Parvati n Parvati won over Lord Shiva n liveh happily….( this one was in brief of the origin of sati…for more elaborate version go search it on Google )….
Later in India…when the husbands used to die….the wives had to burn themselves on top of the deceased husband’s funeral pyre…..Rani Padmavati on which a movie was made had performed Sati with the other women….but it was later banned by the Britishers when they invaded n ruled India…Britishers also had permitted the remarriage of widows…
This post is long…but it will surely make u understand n broaden ur view about the terms used…
I hope u will understand n for more information n the elaborated form u can surely dig up n do more research…
this isn’t based on Indian culture and language, it’s based on Indonesians’. in Indonesia we have a long history of Hinduism and Buddhism (and yes, Indians brought them here centuries ago), and many parts of the beliefs and Sanskrit have long differed from the original. So with all due respect, India has nothing to do with this particular comic. although I can’t say the author is completely accurate in portraying our history and culture, I think you’re the one who should do the research yourself on Indonesia if you’re that invested.
oh and let me add, Ken Dedes and Ken Arok were actual people existing in history, founders of the Singhasari Kingdom. The author wasn’t referencing any of the Hindu gods, once again, they were real people.
Nonsense. You wrote a long useless comment. The comic said this is based on an Indonesian story not an Indian one. Why do you want them to do more research with Indian stories? Of course it’s different in many aspects. Lmao
Even my tea needs a tea for this shit
